Why come to a Parent & Child Class?

Children come to our classes to:

  • Explore a child friendly environment that is safe, challenging and emotionally nurturing, with simple play materials.

  • Try out new physical skills – rolling, crawling, climbing.

  • Experience social interaction in play that stimulates their speech and language development.

  • Explore new social capacities with other children in their stage of development.

Parents come to our classes to:

  • Meet other parents and find a community of sharing and support.

  • Experience an environment that encourages the valuable exchange of ideas and information.

  • Explore the value of observation to see and understand what their babies are doing and how they are learning as they play.

  • Learn songs and games to share with their children at home to support their speech and language development.

  • Discover new tips for care giving – diapering, dressing, feeding.

For the safety of all we have suspended in person classes until further notice

“Sophia’s Hearth  has welcomed me with as much warmth and encouragement as I ever could have hoped for. My husband, my children, and I have been offered such genuine care here. Though I know I’ve learned so much here, I don’t feel taught, instead I feel supported and acknowledged for the challenges of motherhood and care giving …Your center has in many ways helped me define myself as a mother, given me strength and self confidence.
