About Our Waldorf Early Childhood Center

A VISION OF A HEALTHY FAMILY LIFE

Sophia’s Hearth Family Center’s vision is that every family be supported to create a healthy family life so that children develop and flourish with joy, strength and confidence. Sophia’s Hearth Family Center is committed to changing the world for families with young children, for families and early childhood professionals out of the resources of Waldorf Early Childhood Education.

TOUCHING YOUR LIFE IN MANY WAYS

If you are expecting a baby, are the parent of a newborn, infant, or toddler; if you are a caregiver of very young children; if you are a teacher of programs for parents together with their infants and young children or hope to become one, Sophia’s Hearth Family Center can touch your life in many ways.

  • As a center of support for parents and families, Sophia’s Hearth Family Center offers parent and child playgroups throughout the week beginning when babies are four weeks old.
  • As a support for working families and their employers, Sophia’s Hearth Family Center offers childcare for infants and young children.
  • As a professional development center, Sophia’s Hearth Family Center offers professional development programs throughout the year from a morning’s workshop to a full year’s part-time training course.

Susan Weber teaching at our Waldorf Early Childhood CenterINSIGHTS ON EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

The resources of Rudolf Steiner’s insights on human development and education alongside the insights of the Pikler Institute in Hungary provide the foundation of our work. Our programs for children are offered in a setting of reflective practice that informs our teacher work out of daily experience.
