OUR MISSION AND VISION

The art of creating a family is one of becoming, of practicing and striving.  The family bears its best flower and fruit with nurture and tending.  Offering that nurture and support is the work of Sophia's Hearth Family Center. 

Our vision is to create a holistic continuum of support for each family: from the moment of discovery that a child is coming to join it, after the birth of a child, child care for those parents who return to work outside the home, and programs for those who remain at  home.  We strive to offer insights and dialogue that lead to the creating of healthy families and self-directed humans beings within them.  Our warmth supports families in creating an atmosphere of loving warmth, joy, and respect for their infants and young children, while at the same time nurturing each parent as an individual.

We have cultivated  ties to colleagues throughout the world to share, to learn, in ways that have enhanced our work, including education, research, study and observation.

In all aspects of our organization, we strive to serve as a living model for community building.
